Emily's Story
My hair started falling out when I was eighteen months old and it was completely gone by the time I was two.
My Mum got together a support group and it was really good because we went on outings and met at birthdays and Christmas. We all became friends and I did not feel so alone.
I don't like wearing wigs because they ruin your confidence and make you rely on it. Sometimes they can get you in an awkward position with friends. I don't see the point.
I do hobbies out of school. I go to TAE KWON-DO, which is an ancient martial art formed in Korea. I gained my black belt two years ago and am aiming to get my second degree black belt in October 2007. I love training.
I also do drama with Martin Tempest. So far I have been in three movies:
?Tyrannosaurus
?The Force
?Harry's Gone Potty
I am going to be in more productions next year. I hope to be an actress one day. One day I will be an actress!

MORE TO COME.....
Mum's Story
I am Claire White, Emily's Mum. Several years ago I set up a support group with another mother to help children with alopecia and their families. We had a huge response but experienced many difficulties keeping the group going. Unfortunately due to many unforeseen circumstances and lack of support the group went into hibernation.
Emily is now fourteen and wants to help other children. We have decided to reform the group and with the help of computers I am sure we will succeed.
We are now out of hibernation and here to stay!
We are still in touch with several original members, who are all around Emily's age and are very eager to attract lots of new younger members.
Emily is very eager to speak to you all, but it is very important that for safety reasons we keep a register of members to be able to set up a chat room.
As a mother of a child who has had alopecia nearly all her life, I would just like to say that I am very proud of Emily. We have had lots of sad times but she gets on with things and lives life to the full, and most importantly does not care what other people think.
You can read about Emily's achievements in Emily's story and view her favourite pictures in her gallery.
It is important to remember that YOU ARE NOT ALONE. We are looking forward to hearing from you. You can contact Emily or myself on chipsunite@hotmail.com
